“Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole Heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His Kingdom will be an everlasting Kingdom, and all the dominions/rulers will serve and obey Him.
Revelation 12
Day 194: And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.
As long as the ‘accuser’ still has access to Heaven, the children of God have the greatest lawyer they could wish for – the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, the great Advocate, who hears and answers prayers and brings them before God.
Day 195: But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
The image of the Exodus from Egypt continues. Pharaoh pursues the people furiously, but they escape into the desert. Ahab hunts furiously for Elijah, but he escapes into the desert, where he also was out of the reach of Jezebel, who hates him even more than Ahab.
Day 196: And the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon poured out of his mouth.
Creation comes to the help of God’s children. The Lord makes use of the forces of nature to save His people. The earth opens up, as it opened its mouth to receive the blood of Abel It opened up to swallow up the rebels who belonged to Korah.
Day 197: And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.
What stands out time and again in the Book of Revelation is how the Lord is able to protect those who are His: the two witnesses, the ‘hundred and forty-four thousand’, the ‘great multitude’, the ‘worshippers in the Temple’, the ‘woman’.
