The interpretations of the name of the ‘beast’, expressed by the number six hundred and sixty six, were numerous; they include the names of several emperors such as Nero, Titus, Trajan, Domitian, and also the Pope because of the title ‘vicaris Filii Dei’…
Revelation 14
Day 214: And I heard a voice from Heaven, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder, and the voice which I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one could learn the song except the one hundred and forty-four thousand who had been purchased from the earth.
Psalm 2:6 reads: “I have installed My King on Zion, My holy mountain.” ‘The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah’ is the message John hears under the seven trumpets.
Day 215: These are the ones who have not been defiled with women, for they have kept themselves chaste. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These have been purchased from among men as first fruits to God and to the Lamb. And no lie was found in their mouth; they are blameless.
As what have they been purchased? As firstfruits, as ‘firstborn’, they are consecrated to God and the Lamb. This is looking back to the Old Testament firstfruit sacrifices,1 and also thinking of the ‘part of the dough’ offered as firstfruits that are holy.
Day 216: And I saw another angel flying in midHeaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people.
The first of six angels who bring a message from God, appears. Together with Christ Himself, who had said: “There will be no more delay,” time is up, they constitute the seven – the number of perfection or completion…
Day 217: He said with a loud voice, “Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the Heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters.”
What is the content of the ‘eternal gospel’? It is the proclamation on God’s behalf for everyone who has chosen for this world of the ‘beasts’ even while this world is disappearing. And don’t you not see everywhere around you that it is disappearing now, already?
Day 218: And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her immorality.”
Six angels, the number of man, proclaim judgment over man and his works. Preceded by Christ, the first,1 who thus brings the number to seven – they express the completeness of the judgment which is absolute, holy and righteous.
Day 219: And another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand. He also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger.”
The ‘cup of passion of the wine of Babylon’ evolves into the ‘cup of the wine of God’s wrath’. No one escapes it. Whether or not to go along with the world of the anti-Christ(s) is and always will be an individual decision – that has to be made.
Day 220: They will be tormented with burning sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.
The word ‘mark’ is used no less than three times, and it will be used a total of seven times, with reference to the people who had received the mark (six as the number of natural, fallen man) and in the seventh time it refers to the people who…
Day 221: This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently, obeying his commands and maintaining their faith in Jesus. And I heard a voice from Heaven saying, “Write this down: Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them!”1
“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, for their deeds will follow them.” This verse stood on the iron gate at the entrance to the cemetery, the field where the bodies of the deceased are sown like seeds.
Day 222: And I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a Son of Man, having a golden crown on His head, and a sharp sickle in His hand.
The fourth angel of the six angels of judgment is about to speak. However, John is allowed to see Someone first. As always, everything will shortly be explained in greater detail, with more accuracy, but for the moment he is now allowed to see the general framework.
Day 223: And another angel came out of the Temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle and reap, because the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.” And He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth; and the earth was reaped.
The Son of Man was the sower, and the Son of Man is the reaper. He had no place to lay down His head when He was referred to for the first time as the Son of Man. Now He is seated, enthroned, on the ‘cloud’ though not visible on earth.
Day 224: And another angel came out of the Temple which is in Heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. And another angel, the one who has power over fire, came out from the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Put in your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe.”
The fifth and the sixth angel appear. The fifth angel comes out of the Temple in Heaven, and this deliberate addition demonstrates that verse 15 did indeed refer to the Temple on earth, calling to the enthroned Son of Man seated enthroned on the cloud.
