He stands at the beginning and the end. He stood at the beginning of Creation, when He spoke His Word, and it came to pass. He will always be present and He is present now too. He stands at the beginning of our human existence.
Revelation 22
Day 359: Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.
There is reward according to works, Jesus had said. “Look, I am Coming soon! My reward is with Me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.” He searches ‘hearts and minds’, and sees what works flow from them.
Day 360: Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.
This verse also speaks about the heart. It is about those whose hearts love to lie, whose hearts belong to ‘the father of all lies’, the devil. He succeeded in setting Eve on the wrong foot with his deceptive half-truths and whole lies…
Day 361: “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.”
Jesus sends the angels. He is their Commander. The Father has given Him His Glory. Jesus becomes visible, revealed, and He has sent His angel to reveal to John and to us what all of this will contain.
Day 362: And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.
What a rich invitation. There is no one in this world who needs to feel excluded from the invitation. Everyone who will, who really wants to, may come, indeed must come.1 The invitation is meant well and is very serious.
Day 363: I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll.1
This refers to the real ‘plagues’ in this Book of Revelation, not to symbolical imagery, just as the ‘plagues’ of Israel were real when they did not keep God’s Commandments, and just like Egypt was afflicted by ten real plagues…
Day 364: And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.1
When we study the Bible, we ought to seek to digest the whole Book. Some of us may not diligently do so. Some may subtract from the Bible, skip passages for the sake of ease, just ignoring them or just read what they find encouraging like fishing the nice currants…
Day 365: He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
The Spirit and the bride had already said, “Come,” and that invitation was heard, and was accepted, and will be accepted yesterday, today and tomorrow, by everyone who has ears to hear. Millions around the globe have gladly accepted this ‘great invitation’.
Day 366: The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.
The Book of Revelation ends as it began, with the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is how John greeted the seven Churches in Asia, and this is how he finally greets us all – with the Grace and the loving presence of Jesus Himself.
